Andres "Andy" Fernandez, Owner

Andy grew up in New York City with his Dominican born mother and his Cuban father who loved to cook. Every day he made traditional Cuban dishes for the family, and Andy learned from the best! When he came to Ventura, he fell in love with the beautiful harbor. Being a touring stand-up comedian, Andy and fellow comic Randy Lubas opened the Ventura Harbor Comedy Club. Soon after, a Tshirt shop closed and an opportunity called! Andy open Andres Wine and Tapas Bar but too many friends thought he opened a topless bar; so, he changed the name to 805 Bar & Grilled Cheese. The restaurant was doing so well that when the Sushi restaurant closed next door, Andy decided to take it over. His dream was to serve traditional Cuban dishes like his father used to make. The Copa Cubana was born. Two restaurants - One kitchen = what?! Here at the 805/Copa, Andy strives for excellence and authenticity. We hope your food and experience is nothing less. Thank you for choosing the 805 Bar & Grilled Cheese and The Copa Cubana!
